2. A vessel with a draught of 2.5 metres wants to keep a minimum safety margin of 0.2 m. Can she enter pontoon E in Herzliya Marina and stay there for 3 days? Give reasons for your answer. No. According to the figures for the two tidal states, at low water there will not be the required safety margin.
3. Would the buoys at the northern entrance to Hadera harbour change if the area were in IALA-B? Give reasons for your answer. Yes. It would be the reverse system: entering the anchorage, the red marks would be on the vessel's starboard side and the green marks on her port side.
4. The chart states that its scale is 1:300,000. If the scale were 1:30,000, which of the two charts would show more detail? Give reasons for your answer. The larger the scale, the more detail the chart shows, since it covers a smaller area. Therefore a chart at 1:30,000 will show more detail.
